Boy's
Varsity Basketball begins Season With New Coaches
By Kayla Thiebault
If you go to a boy’s basketball game this year, you will see a new head coach;
his name is Mr. Mark Tuchscherer. He was the assistant coach under Mr. Laager
for the past three years. He enjoys the kids, the school, the administration,
and the teachers at Champlin Park, and that is what he brought him here.
Tuchscherer said,
“I am excited about being the head coach. I have good kids who are willing to
work hard and have fun.” His goals for the season are to work hard, play as a
team, and play to the highest potential and have fun while competing. He thinks
this season will go good, there is one returning starter but a lot of talent
returning. “If they work hard and play as a team, good things will happen,” said
Tuchscherer.
This is
Tuchscherer’s first year teaching. He was a financial analyst at the Allina
Health System for two years. He enjoyed the business world. But he knew that he
would end up being a teacher. He said, “There was something missing, I needed to
interact and teach others.” He is the fourth generation teacher in his family.
Tuchscherer is a
single man. He is interested in fishing, hunting, vacations, and being at the
lake. The reason he enjoys the lake so much, is because his love for fishing and
wake boarding. Also he likes just relaxing and being in the sun with his family
and friends.
He said, “I am
excited about being the head coach. I have good kids who are willing to work
hard and have fun.”
