The newly-formed Champlin Park Boys Basketball Booster Club conducted an open house June 6 at Mavericks Wood Grill to say goodbye to coach Ryan Lager and welcome new coach Mark Tuchscherer as the new Champlin Park boys head varsity coach.

More than 100 former and future players, parents, community members and local businesses gathered to meet and welcome the new varsity head coach, Mark Tuchscherer.

"It was great to see so many local business owners and community members stand in support to help strengthen the Champlin Park boys basketball program," said Bill Freeman, parent of returning senior Pat Freeman.

"We are very excited about the partnerships we are creating that will promote boys basketball at Champlin Park High School," said Jane Hager, Booster Club board member.

Jordan Reibling, a newcomer to the Champlin Park basketball program, said, "I can't wait to get to work and start playing basketball for Champlin Park."

It is the goal of the booster club with partnership with players, staff, parents, grandparents and the community to increase attendance and enthusiasm at the games. The booster club members look forward to supporting and working with coach Tuchscherer and the rest of the coaching staff to make the 2006-07 basketball season "one to remember."
