Meeting Minutes

October 10, 2006

 

Attendance: Denise and Al Dittrich, Jane Hager, Tom Costello, Nancy Freeman, Ron Reibling, Lori and Bruce Thompson, Carla Starck, Marileen and Randy Diederichs and Cindy Nolte

 

The next Booster Club Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 in the South Lecture Hall room at Champlin Park High School at 7:00pm.

Secretary Report:

•                     September Minutes-Approved

 

Treasurer Report:

•                     Spreadsheet was provided to the attendees.  Denise walked through the spreadsheet.

•                     Approved. 

           

 

Fundraiser Updates:  Denise said we will focus on these three Fundraisers for now.  When we  get more people involved, we can do more.

 

 1.  Programs  

 

•                     Theme -  Tuch came up with a theme that everyone liked.  “Getting down to business”.

•                     Cover - Using the theme, have JV and Varsity basketball players wear a shirt, tie and blazer with shorts and tennis shoes.  Have them sitting at a desks in school would be good.  Tuch will see what he can come up with.  Denise mentioned getting help from Mr. Zimmerman.

•                     Back - The CP Boys basketball website will be listed on the back cover of the program.

 

•                     Ads - October 15^th is the deadline for getting all the ads in.  The art should be given to Jane Hager and the money to Kim Dudgeon. 

 

•                     How many Programs will be printed?  1,000

•                     Cost per program will be:  $1.00   

 

2.  Raffle

•                     Denise brought up raffle guideline that we must distinguish price points on ticket and have different colors for each.

•                     Price of the tickets: 1 for $5.00, 4 for $10.00 or 12 for $20.00

•                     Tom Costello agreed to staple the tickets and start a log with the ticket numbers.

•                     Ron will put the info and sample raffle tickets on the boys basketball website.    

•                     Ron will talk to Tuch about a “Blitz night” for the boys to sell raffle tickets. Would like to plan a pizza party or something of that sort for the Blitz night.

•                     Denise has a map broken down by region so the boys can be given specific regions to sell their raffles.  This way we don’t have the boys going to the same house more than once.

•                     It was mentioned that it would be nice to have a Top seller prize or Top Team seller prize.  T-Wolves tickets or Buffalo Wild Wings certificates.

 

•                     Denise said we should have a table set up at the boys basketball parents meeting to hand out raffle tickets to those that would like to help sell them.

•                     Goal is for each child to sell to 20 customers with a blend of the following:

            10% - $5.00

            40% - $10.00

            50% - $20.00

•                     Raffle Date will be December 19^th.

 

3.  “Booster Club Warm-up”  - Ron Reibling

•                     Ron said they had 65 boys that registered.        

•                     They have had 2 sessions so far and it is going well.  The last one was led by Velocity trainers.

•                     The sessions are well organized.  Vertimax sign up sheet, Wt Room, Court conditioning, Court shooting machine, court scrimmages, etc..

•                     Ron has a sign up sheet for volunteers to help.  If he is in need of help, he will let us know.

 

Special Activities - Updates:

•                     Game Schedule - Ron brought a calendar with the game schedule.

•                     Youth Night - Nancy Freeman has tentatively scheduled youth night for Jan. 5, 2007 and Feb. 9, 2007.  CDAA and CPTBA boys and girls that wear their jersey will get in free.  At ½ time of the game, will announce all the coaches that volunteer and have them stand.

•                     Freshman Link Crew night - Nancy will check with Tuch to see if Dec. 12^th 2006 or Dec. 19^th 2006 will work.

•                     Parent Night and Senior Night - Will have Tuch establish these nights.

•                     All Businesses that put an ad in our program - Denise will give Nancy a list of all the business and Nancy will put them on the home game schedule to be announced at ½ time.

•                     Photographer and Writer - Ron Reibling is currently working on getting a photographer and writer for each home game. 

•                     Pep Band / Band - Ron will check into having a Pep Band or some kind of band at the home games.  Notify Ron if you know anyone that has a band and would be willing to play at a game.  Denise and Al mentioned Tom as a possibility.

•                     National Anthem - Would like to have a live singer!  Choir or individuals.  If you know someone willing to sing let Ron know.   Denise and Al mentioned Peter, Jim and James Hersch as a possibility.

•                     Saturday afternoon game, Jan. 27, 2007 - Any ideas? 

•                     All ideas should be sent to Nancy Freeman.

•                     Cindy Nolte will send Nancy the e-mail that Jeff Munneke sent a while back.  It had a lot of great ideas.

•                     Denise asked about a Mascot?  We should have one.

•                     Denise mentioned it would be great to have themes or dress up themes for the players and fans on basketball nights.  This gets people excited and shows school spirit.

•                     Al mentioned it would stir a lot of energy if we had prizes for the cheerleaders to throw in the stands, like T-shirts, hats, etc...

•                     Ron mentioned we could sell Rebel gear by Monster Inc., at games.
