Secretary Report: Not enough attendance. Will be approved at the next meeting.
Treasurer Report: N/A
Updates:
1. Website Status: Ron Reibling will create our website for the Champlin Park High School Boys basketball. This site will be a link via the Champlin Park website under Boys Basketball. He will create the link with the option to go back to “CP website”. (Home) Items to put on the website will include: Meeting Agenda’s, Meeting Minutes, Calendar of events, meet the new Coach article and pictures. Can add a Roster of players with profiles and pictures.
• What do we want to name our website?
• Logo?
2. Denise brought up that the Meet the New Coach event went well. There were about 120 people that attended. This was a good start in letting businesses know about our Booster Club and what we are about.
3. Programs: Denise thought Jeff Munneke was planning to send letters and rate cards to all the Brooklyn Park and Champlin businesses soon. Next step is to get as many people as we can to go to these businesses in person and ask if they are interested in advertising in the boys basketball program. It was decided an e-mail should be sent to everyone and ask for Help!
NEW
Denise sent an e-mail to everyone asking that they attend a short meeting at Mavericks on June 28th and June 29th to find out how they can help raise money for the boys basketball booster club. For those that could not attend one of these meetings, Denise asked that they call or e-mail her with a time that works for them.
We discussed the priorities for our third goal, which is, Attendance:
Would like to have someone be in charge of the “Special Events” and have about 5 people on this committee to make this successful. The top events include:
1. CPTBA, CDAA, Senior and Parent Night
2. Connect with the band and have live National Anthem.
3. Youth hoops games at ˝ time.
4. Youth team form tunnel.
5. Every home game, kids that wear their basketball jersey get in free.
6. Players pick a teacher to honor at a game.
Miscellaneous:
• Joe V. offered to get more information on the concessions.
• Golf Fundraiser - Julie Munneke offered to get a golf tournament set up. The question is, should we tackle it this year or wait until next year. So far, the group feels we should wait until next year.
• Denise brought up a new fundraiser idea, which is raffle tickets. Allen put together a spreadsheet that outlined possible raffle prizes, pricing, sales ideas and most importantly, how much the booster club could earn based on pricing and sales. The Grand prize and 1st prize would be:
Grand Prize = ATV
1st prize = Snowblower
Allen’s thought was to put the ATV on a trailer, bring it to the home football games and sell the tickets. Obviously, we would need approval to do this. Would like to do the same for the first four basketball games and announce the winner at the 5th basketball game. Ticket pricing options: 1 - $10, 5 - $20
We all thought this was a great idea! Stay tunned...more to follow!
