Coach Mark Tuchscherer - Tryout Update:
Coach Tuch said they had a great turn out. A lot of good talent and it was hard to let some boys go. They had 6-8 coaches there for try outs the entire time. First game, all levels did well. Varsity needs to work on shots and rebounds. Al Dittrich asked if the warm-up clinic helped? Tuch said yes, he saw a difference in many of the boys.
Denise thanked everyone for all their hard work in the booster club!
Jane thanked Denise for everything that she has done, especially running the Booster Club meetings and keeping it all organized. The rest of the group thanked her as well.
Fundraiser Updates:
1. Programs - Jane Hager
Jane handed out a list of all the sponsors for everyone to review for spelling accuracy and that all of them were on there. Cindy informed Jane that Liberty Heating should be added.
Jane said the school has other projects and priorities and this could slow down the process of getting our programs done. Swift Print matched the price of the school and can have them done before the first gam, so, we may go with Swift Print if needed.
Carla Starck volunteered to sell programs at the first game. We will also have some of the freshman boys sell in the crowd.
2. Raffle - Denise and Al Dittrich
Al went through an example of the packet that the boys will be getting for blitz night.
Blitz night will be on Tuesday, 12-5-06. Freshman will report to the cafeteria between 4:00 - 4:30. Sophmore, JV and Varsity will report to the cafeteria around 4:30pm. Coaches will be there. Subway, water and chips will be provided to the boys. They will eat and then go out and sell. We will need parent drivers for the freshman and may some others. A flyer will be attached to the envelopes for the boys to reference during their sales. Each boy will also get a map of the area that they should sell in to prevent the boys from going to peoples houses more than once. The boys will meet back in the cafeteria to check in their tickets and money. Cindy Nolte will send an e-mail to parents in our address book to have the boys dress warm.
Raffle Goal - We are hoping to sell $10,000 in raffles.
Special Activities:
Nancy Freeman said we have several theme nights scheduled, but, some nights remain open.
It would be great if the players come up with some themes for the remaining nights.
Nancy said the school has priority on the ½ time events.
Carla put together a calendar with the events and sponsors listed for each home game.
We still need volunteers to coordinate home game events, such as greeting guest youth teams/players and coordinate other special activities. The coordinator for that game will provide the announcer with a list of sponsors and special activities for that night.
PLEASE CONTACT NANCY FREEMAN (freewags@aol.com) IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN COORDINATING ONE OF THE HOME GAME EVENTS. More than one coordinator per home game is welcomed!
Band/Music - Ron Reibling has a DJ all set to be at the games.
National Anthem - Ron has someone scheduled to sing the National Anthem for each of the home games. Ron has at least one person singing twice, so, if anyone knows someone that would like to sing, please contact Ron.
OTHER:
Curt asked Coach Tuch if there was any conditioning available for the players after school before practices. Coach Tuch said that is a good idea, but, there is limited availability of the weight training room and the courts. Curt suggested the players could run stairs, etc... Coach Tuch will check with the activities director and his coaching staff.
Denise asked if the Booster Club could purchase some towels for the players. Everyone agreed this was a good idea. Curt offered to buy them and will share in getting them washed after games.
