"Who's Your Daddy?"

Champlin Park Rocks Big Lake
- December 12, 2006
by Sam Thurn

In the second game of a girl/boy basketball double header, echoes of "Who's your daddy," rang throughout the gymnasium as Big Lake used a timeout at the end of the game.

The girl's team won a thriller as Ashlynn Fuller made a three point play to win the game in the final minute.

For the Boys, it was the home opener and they had a tough act to follow.  Calvin Nolte (11) played very well with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks.  Most of his points came off the 8 rebounds as he crashed the boards. Freeman still had 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. A few of those assists went to Nate Dudgeon (11) who received many passes on the low block. Dudgeon ended up with 13 points (5-7 FG) and also showed his range with a three-pointer in the first half.  Nolte said, "I played pretty good but I need to improve my conditioning".

So now the Rebels are 1-2 and play again at home on Tuesday, December 19 against Anoka. The final score was 72-49 and although the score was close, there was never really a doubt of whether or not the Rebels were going to win.  "The team played well in the second half, but not so well in the first," Nolte said. The Rebels led 39-29 through the first half.

So the questions were answered of who is who's daddy, there is no need to call in Maury to prove that it is the Champlin Park Rebels.
