Rebels Get Win Against a Very Good Maple Grove
By Sam Thurn January 11, 2007
The Champlin Park High School Rebels got their first victory since the
second game of the season in surprising fashion against a very good
Maple
Grove team. The Rebels took their 1-8 record into Maple Grove to take on
a
team that was the fourth best overall in the conference. Coming off a
tough game for Pat Freeman (12) where he shot 1-10 in field goal
shooting
and 0-5 in three point shots, Freeman scored a season high 27 points in
a
very good performance. The Rebels coasted to a 56-51 victory with some
spectacular highlights from Keith Smith (12) dunking. This was the kind
of
game that the Rebels needed. The seniors on the team played very well
and led the
Rebels to victory. Now the Rebels have a win streak to keep up and the
next chance to
continue it would be on Tuesday against at Coon Rapids. If the Rebels
can
keep up the good play, they should be able to pull off the victory.
