GO REBELS!

Champlin Park 49 Forest Lake 56

Freeman plays well, but Rebels come up short - December 7, 2006
by Sam Thurn

Thursday night's game brought hopes of success after a slow start in the season opener for the Champlin Park Rebels boy's team. But as the game wore on, it ended up being another ticket to the attraction we like to call, "The Pat Freeman Show."

Although this game was slightly better rounded than the first, Freeman still had an outstanding performance. He pounded in 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists while making two three-pointers.
The rest of the team only knocked in 27 points as the Rebels were on the wrong side of a 56-49 score against Forest Lake. Some encouraging signs from the game were that Forward Keith Smith came back from suspension and added 11 points and 4 rebounds.

Now, as the Rebels return home for the home opener on Tuesday, December 12th, there is a lot to look forward to with this Rebels team. Unfortunately, they have not played up to expectations in their first two games. Though, the Rebels will have plenty of time to turn their season around and come out with a good season.
